TPR's DB funding code and the importance of an effective trustee chair

It’s hard to contemplate how any board of trustees would operate without having a trustee chair in place, but it’s interesting to find that this only became a regulatory requirement for many DB schemes when The Pensions Regulator’s (TPR) defined benefit (DB) funding code came into force on 12 November 2024.

These new regulations implement the requirements of the Pension Schemes Act 2021 and the long-awaited scheme specific statement of strategy in relation to any valuations due after 22 September 2024...
