The House of Commons has formally appointed the membership of the Work and Pensions Committee (WPC).

Each party has its own internal processes for naming its nominations to fill its seats on House of Commons committees.

Individual nominees put forward by political parties were then agreed in the House of Commons, following a Committee of Selection meeting.

There is one remaining vacancy on the WPC that is expected to be filled shortly.

Party seat allocations across and within committees is proportionate to the number of MPs elected to the House of Commons at the general election, with the precise number negotiated between the party whips through the Committee of Selection.

Debbie Abrahams was elected as chair of the Work and Pensions Committee by all members of the House of Commons on 11 September.

The following Members of Parliament have been appointed to the WPC.
