DB sponsors account for one fifth of H1 2023 profit warnings

Nearly one fifth of all profit warnings issued by UK-listed companies in the first half of the year came from firms sponsoring a defined benefit (DB) pension scheme, research from EY-Parthenon has shown.

The company's Profit Warning analysis revealed of the 141 profit warnings issued by UK-listed companies so far in 2023, 27 of them were issued by companies which sponsored a DB scheme, compared to ...
