Quietroom has teamed up with former pensions minister Baroness Ros Altmann to launch ‘Christmas Friends’, a story about Christmas and pensions in the style of a children’s picture book.
The creative communications specialist said it was joining the likes of John Lewis, Marks & Spencer and other big high street retailers in "promoting happiness and joy this festive season".
The short story was released as both a book and a video (see below).
Created by Quietroom and narrated in the video version by Baroness Altmann, the story features three new friends - a robin, reindeer and snowflake - talking about personal finance and pensions on a crisp winter's day just before Christmas.
Commenting on being part of the story, the robin said: "It was lovely to meet my new friends, the reindeer and snowflake. It was bitterly cold, but we had a warming conversation about pensions of all things.
"Both myself and the reindeer admitted to not really thinking about the future nor saving into a pension, but our friend the snowflake showed us what it was like to be part of something much bigger. It was beautiful."
Quietroom director Simon Grover added: "At Quietroom we love celebrating Christmas and our ‘Christmas Friends' story is our small contribution to this year's Christmas festivities.
"Pensions and personal finance are complicated. But telling stories and keeping things clear and simple can go a long way in helping pension savers plan and save for their future."
Grover added: "As an industry, we need to keep striving to improve how we talk to people. While we don't expect our Christmas Friends story to rival the social media hits of the John Lewis advert, we hope it will bring some Christmas cheer to the pensions community."
‘Christmas Friends' is the latest in silly but clever Christmas presents that Quietroom has been producing for many years. Previous offerings have included a brand book for Santa Claus and a trustee meeting for Santa's pension scheme.
