BlackRock has significantly bolstered its sustainable investing team – establishing a new team of sustainability specialists across the EMEA region.
The asset manager said Ewa Jackson - a director in its sustainable investing team - would take on an expanded role as head of sustainable client solutions for EMEA.
In this role, Jackson will oversee a new team of sustainability specialists across the region.
It said David Hickey had joined the team as head of sustainability for the UK. Hickey comes to BlackRock from Lothian Pension Fund, where he was the scheme's responsible investment lead.
He brings over 15 years of investment experience and will be based primarily in Edinburgh and also spend significant time in London. David will join BlackRock's UK executive committee.
BlackRock added it had also hired Charlotte Månsson to Jackson's team as head of sustainability for the Nordic region, based in Copenhagen. Månsson was previously senior vice-president and head of ESG product strategy and commercialisation at Sustainalytics. She will join BlackRock's Nordic executive committee.
In addition, BlackRock said Julie Ansidei, who joined its team in March as head of EMEA external engagement, will also act as head of sustainability for France.
BlackRock said it hopes to announce heads of sustainability for both Germany and the Netherlands later this year.
