Former British Airways Pensions chief executive (CEO) Fraser Smart will take on the position of CEO at Heywood Pension Technologies where he is currently chief strategy officer.
Fraser has worked alongside Heywood's management team in strategy planning since joining the firm in 2021 and brings significant pensions experience to his new position as CEO.
As well as his time with British Airways, Smart is a former partner at Hymans Robertson and was both president and managing director of Buck.
Heywood chair Chris Humphrey said Smart's move to CEO came after having made himself "an indispensable part of the business" since his appointment last November.
"His previous experience aligns perfectly with Heywood's mission and growth ambitions as we focus on supporting pension providers, administrators and employers with modern software solutions to simplify how their members manage their lifelong financial journeys," Humphrey added. "He is an excellent choice of CEO to lead the business through the next stage of its growth."
Smart added: "I have enjoyed my time spent with Heywood Pension Technologies and I am delighted to accept this role. The team brings unparalleled energy and dedication to building solutions that help people feel secure about their financial future. I look forward to continuing to work closely with our customers and their members as we pursue our ambition to become the UK's leading provider of data-driven, technology-enabled solutions for all workplace pensions."
Heywood Pension Technologies is the rebranded business name of the former Aquila Heywood. The firm announced its name change last November as part of an expansion of service offerings.
