When a top pension lawyer posts something on LinkedIn, you expect the industry will sit up and listen… But you don’t quite expect tens of thousands of views (well, not unless it is about the latest on GMP equalisation).
The post by Eversheds Sutherland head of pensions Francois Barker introduced the pensions world to the newest recruit to the legal firm's pensions team - the seven-week-old labrador guide dog puppy Eliah (see picture above).
Eliah will spend his first year or so in the Barker household before he goes into formal training with Guide Dogs, learning how to give someone their sight back.
The post sparked a wave of pension professionals posting their own puppy pics - with Standard Life Assurance senior manager Andy Dickson and 20-20 Trustees director Stuart Travers both showing off their new pets and a raft of others extoling the virtues of black labs
The LinkedIn post comes two years after Professional Pensions published its article on self-isolating pension professionals and their pets - a fun piece which garnered thousands of views in the earliest days of lockdown one..
