Scheme funding levels continue to fall

UK private sector scheme funding levels have fallen from 93% to 85% over the last year, leading to difficulties for firms with triennial valuations due, says JLT Pension Capital Strategies.

The firm's monthly index shows that combined assets for UK defined benefit scheme stood at just over £1trn at the end of April while liabilities had grown to £1.18trn, leaving a shortfall of £172bn...
