The Treasury is reportedly discussing plans to axe higher-rate tax relief altogether. Here is a list of five things you need to consider (and two other ways the government can extract more taxes from pension savings).

The discussions - reported in the Telegraph (PP Online, 20 June) - would see tax relief cut for all those who pay income tax at the 40% and 50% rate and could see a £7bn windfall for the Treasury. ...
