FTSE100 pension schemes racked up combined deficits of £72bn last year as economic turmoil sliced asset values.
This represents a loss of £84bn on their funding position at the end of 2008. Pension Capital Strategies said the results of its regular analysis represented the "worst calendar year on record"....
