New Jersey claims success despite turmoil

US - A year of financial instability culminating in last week's turmoil has hit pension funds on a global scale but New Jersey claims to have bucked the trend through sound investments and its pension fund structure.

The US$77bn portfolio returned a loss of 2.9% for the last fiscal year and was down by just 1% for July and August this year, in comparison to the average market funds operating at a loss of 4.5%. ...
