Private scheme contributions drop for first time

UK - Total contributions to private pension schemes in the UK dropped for the first time since records began after the recession kicked in, Office of National Statistics research showed.

The ONS' update of its Pension Trends publication revealed total contributions to private pension schemes fell from £85.8bn in 2007 to £82.1bn (US$132.1bn) in 2008 - the start of the recession. ...
