Professional Pensions has won two awards at the 16th annual State Street UK Institutional Press Awards.

PP deputy editor Stephanie Baxter was awarded the pensions issues journalist of the year award and editor-in-chief Jonathan Stapleton won the accolade for outstanding contribution to institutional journalism.

The State Street UK Institutional Press Awards, which were first launched in 2002, recognise outstanding performance in institutional financial services reporting.

Entries were judged by an independent panel of industry professionals, including CNBC anchor Karen Tso; Barnett Waddingham senior consultant Malcolm McLean; KPMG committee member and Legal & General Investment Management non-executive director Lindsay Tomlinson; Professional Adviser editor Julian Marr; and freelance journalists Pádraig Floyd, Gill Wadsworth and Lynn Strongin Dodds.

The awards were presented at a lunch held yesterday, hosted by State Street executive vice-president and EMEA head of global markets Rajen Shah.

Commenting on the awards, Shah said: "With more than 150 entries submitted this year, the awards continue to recognise great journalism and acknowledge the vital role that the press plays in providing information and a platform for education and debate."
