WSB talks to Aetna International sales director Andy O'Cain about winning the International Benefits Provider of the Year awards.
What does it mean to win this award?
At Aetna International, we are enormously proud to have received this award for the recognition of our commitment to provide personalised, accessible and affordable healthcare to globally mobile individuals and groups wherever they are in the world. We work hard to serve our customers every day and accolades such as this are always important and gratefully received.
Judges comment: "Aetna takes the virtual GP to the next level with its vHealth offering - a programme it is currently rolling out to globally mobile professionals."
What do you believe sets you apart from your peers?
Aetna International's entry for the WSB Awards focussed on vHealth, a service we believe will revolutionise the way health care is delivered to a global market. This is just one area that sets us apart in a highly competitive sector.
vHealth is a global digital primary health care platform that allows members to contact doctors remotely via desktop computers, tablets and mobile devices. The platform has been created by Aetna International and is designed to reduce the need for physical consultations. vHealth empowers members to manage their family health effectively, and helps to ‘bring healthcare to the kitchen table'.
With the focus on clinical excellence, digital technology and a wide network of health care partners, vHealth is redefining primary health care for globally mobile individuals and their families.
What are the key challenges facing your clients and how are you helping them address them?
Aetna International's clients are both corporates and individuals, and also their family members. Every individual we deal with has different healthcare needs and requirements.
Our class-leading, and globally compliant, healthcare solutions allow organisations to meet their duty of care obligations towards international employees. Individual members and their families enjoy comprehensive cover and an extensive network of medical providers around the world. Members are empowered to keep themselves healthy, and a suite of digital tools makes it easy to access the care they need, when they need it.
How will you continue to improve your services to clients over the coming 12 months?
vHealth will be further rolled out across our key global regions during the next 12 months, making this facility available to even more members throughout 2019. Our commitment to providing personalised, accessible and affordable care remains undiminished. We will continue to drive innovation and improvements across the business to deliver on this promise.
