Pensions law firm Sackers has promoted associates David Saunders and Robin Simmons to partners.
Saunders is experienced in a wide range of pensions law issues, advising both trustees and employers, and is a member of the team that provides services to other law firms.
He often advises on the pensions aspects of corporate acquisitions, disposals and reorganisations. Recent work has included advising clients making changes to their pensions provisions, the legal aspects of scheme funding and the Regulator’s anti-avoidance powers and clearance procedures.
Simmons advises employers and trustees on all pensions law issues. Recently he has focused on advising employers in managing their defined benefit liabilities. He also advises on corporate mergers and acquisitions, notably assisting the trustees of the Boots Pension Scheme in its deal with the KKR-led private equity consortium’s acquisition of Alliance Boots plc.
Senior partner Ian Pittaway said: "We congratulate all those who have received promotions and are particularly pleased to welcome David and Robin as partners. Their hard work and commitment to providing excellent service and advice to their clients merits this step."
